The professional standards unit works to promote the professionalism and integrity of the Stuart Police Department. Working toward making the Stuart Police Department a pinnacle law enforcement agency. The professional services unit is responsible for conducting internal investigations, recruiting and training officers, and maintaining our Florida accreditation. 

Accreditation

The Stuart Police Departments Florida Accreditation is obtained through a rigorous review process set forth by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement. This process looks at the policies and procedures of the agency as an independent reviewer to determine if the agency has meet the standards required to be Accredited. The Stuart Police Department has been an accredited agency since 2005. Master Officer Tammy Farnham is our accreditation manager and is responsible for keeping our agency meeting standards and compliance.
