Stuart, FL – After communicating with local healthcare experts, the City of Stuart and the Visiting Nurse Association of Florida have made the difficult decision to cancel the Stuart Christmas Parade this year. With approximately 15,000 community members attending the parade each year, the health and well-being of volunteers, participants, and supporters is our top priority.
Many factors relating to the COVID-19 pandemic were taken into consideration when making this decision, most notably social distancing protocols, which have made it difficult for parade participants to gather and decorate their floats or practice their routines.
In addition to the Stuart Christmas Parade, the 2020 Veterans Day Parade has also been cancelled due to COVID-19, however the annual ceremony will continue as normally scheduled on Veterans Day at Memorial Park.
The City of Stuart continues to evaluate special events on a case by case basis, and we thank the members of the community in advance for their patience and understanding.
