Honor Guard

                                             Honor Guard

The City of Stuart Fire Rescue formed an Honor Guard team in 2008 and is continually training for various special details.  One example of the details that Fire Rescue Honor Guards perform is posting guards at the casket of Firefighter funerals termed "casket watch".  Other popular details would be the folding of the American Flag off the casket and presenting it to the family.  This detail varies greatly and can consist of a minimum of three personnel and up to nine.  Teams also do the posting of the American and State Flags at special occasions and Fire Academy Graduations.  Stuart Fire Rescue’s Honor Guard Team also works very closely with the Martin County Fire Rescue Honor Guard Team and have assisted them numerous times with details.  There is a lot of training involved in maintaining an Honor Guard Team, but the dedication of the team members is strong, and we always look forward to representing the City of Stuart Fire Rescue Department and assisting fellow Fire Rescue Departments with pride when the need arises.
