Neighborhood Clean Up

From 8 am-11 am on the 2nd Saturday, the City holds a neighborhood cleanup for a few designated residential neighborhoods every other month. See map below for participating areas and all 2022 dates.

Only residents of the specified neighborhoods can place bulk items at the curb, such as appliances and furniture, miscellaneous trash, and yard waste. City sanitation trucks provide an extra pickup in these areas at no charge.

Additionally, The Martin County HazMobile is parked in the vicinity of the participating neighborhoods, referred to as the “host location on the map” for these residents to drop off household hazardous waste such as paints, oils, cleaners, etc. The HazMobile is a big box truck and has the logo painted in bright colors. Residents can’t miss it! For their convenience, Electronic Waste (E-Waste) is accepted, too, at this host location during the cleanup. Or, residents can bring E-Waste items to the collection dumpster on Georgia Avenue any day of the week, from dawn to dusk.

FYI HazMobile does not accept old gasoline, car batteries, or used tires!

How it Works

  1. Visit the “Neighborhood Host” booth to drop off items for the HazMobile or Electronic Waste. See map for exact host location for each clean-up date.
  2. City trucks will make a couple of passes throughout the participating neighborhoods to collect yard trash, bulk items, and miscellaneous garbage that is placed at the curb.  Please place items out as soon as possible on Saturday morning, but no later than 10:30am.

Questions? Call the recycling coordinator at (772) 600-1206 Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.
