Application Acceptance
The Stuart Police Department accepts applications for all of its positions on a continuous basis, but are actively seeking to hire for the position of a part time police officer.
Testing
Testing for the various employment opportunities is done on a continuous basis and consists of a written test and an oral board. Successful candidates are those who achieve at least an 80% on both of these tests.
Requirements
The Stuart Police Department accepts applications from candidates who are Florida State certified, those who are currently enrolled in a Florida police academy, or applicants who are qualified but not certified.
Applicants with Associate Degrees or higher are preferred.

About Our Dispatchers
We currently employ 9 full-time dispatchers and several part-time dispatchers. Two full-time dispatchers are assigned to each shift. Part-time dispatchers are used to fill in during vacations and sick leave.
Position Requirements
All applicants must pass a written test and oral board, along with a complete background, psychological and truth verification test.
